DIY Kintsugi Earring Workshop
Repair sea glass into beautiful earrings in a sustainable way
17:00 - 19:00 | Wissel
Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese repair method that uses metals such as gold and silver to repair cracks in broken items. The technique has been practiced since the 1300s and focuses on finding beauty in imperfections. In this workshop you are invited to experience kintsugi for yourself, sustainably mending sea glass into beautiful earrings. Create a one-of-a-kind pair of kintsugi earrings to commemorate your journey using sea glass we pick up from net stalls in Taiwan and nearby islands! NOTE: Glue will be used to patch the pieces together instead of traditional paint. Metal powder is sprinkled on the surface. It’s a more relaxed and beginner-friendly kintsugi experience than fixing dishes and the like!
